FAEMedia was founded in 2003 by Chris Hatfield, who remains the company’s president today. FAEMedia initially developed custom software for Windows and Mac, to be used in various commercial applications.

In 2003, the company responded to a market demand for audio recording tools by launching its first independent product, FAE®. FAE quickly became a word-of-mouth wonder, and its use for audio recording and editing spread rapidly. Today, there are more than 1 million FAE users worldwide.

Over time, FAE Distribution has kept pace with new technologies and shifts in the competitive landscape.
